A late starter in life, author of fiction and humour, I have had two books published by Smashwords in the last 6 months, currently working on a political comedy, painter, just begun to learn film making and film editing, always self taught so as to have the freedom to explore and express my creativity, but not afraid to take any useful advice from any helpful source.
Interesting question! I write to express my social conscience and often the inequality between men and woman. I use my books to often state the obvious, but which often gets ignored. My first published novel has no dialogue so as to actively engage the reader in the story and allow them to use their own life experiences and decide for themselves what the characters might be saying at any point in the story. I love the absurdity of comedy and turning a ridiculous situation into something that either makes you feel good, smile or have a good belly laugh.
George Orwell, '1984', 'Animal Farm', 'Down and out in Paris and London'. Dickens, Charles Kingsley, Kenneth Grahame, Tom Sharpe, Hemingway.
