I'm a writer and musician, currently in exile in Indianapolis.
I'm currently shopping (ie. collecting rejection slips) my first novel, while working on my second. Short fiction is the mortar between my long-winded attempts to be clever. Genre bending sounds so smug, but that doesn't stop me from trying it.
Writing is my way to make real what isn't, but should be. Also the chicks dig it.
This sounds like a trap. Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Kerouac, Chuck Palahniuk, Alan Moore, Brian K. Vaughan, Brian Cosky, Stephan Loy, Charles Bukowski. Ask me again next week and I will give you a different list.
