  • About Me

Well, as you see above I live in sunny So. Cal, I write, I am learning to draw, learning to play the guitar, REading and reviewing, blogging, trying to live and get healthy. I've written my first novel: The Gathering: Book One of the Lia Fail Chronicles. It's an epic fantasy/ adventure, romance, horror set in a future California after the last World War. For more info you can go to my website. I also have a Blog, about my life, my writing and my book reviews. It's at http://sldearing1.wordpress.com/

I am a fan of everything nerd, Rock & Roll, fantasy, Star Wars and Star Trek, Comics (mostly horror anthologies, but I did the super heroes too), Horror movies, all movies, anything to do with Jack the Ripper (but mostly the Maybrick theory - YES, I am a diary enthusiast) and for that matter profiling and affiliated programs. Ok, now I 'm rambling so I'm gonna stop so you don't leave due to boredom...next question...

    Why do you write?

I write because I'm moved to write. History fuels my creativity and the news of today. I often ask the question, what if? and then my mind begins spinning and the story begins to "percolate" and when it's boiling hot, I pour it out as it were. I fought the urge to write a long time and it always found an outlet. I've comes to terms with who I am and what I do and I believe I do it well... of course, you can't please everyone, so I don't worry about it. Have fun and love what you write, after all, even if no one else reads it, you have and you love it.

    Any favorite authors? Books?

Hmmm, Stephen King - The Stand, Night Shift, Dolores Claiborne, Carrie, Creepshow... Dean Koontz - The Bad Place, Phantoms, Intensity... J. K. Rowling - The Harry Potter Series... I also have some non-fiction favorites too: Gene Wilder's Auto Biography, Dear Fatty (Dawn French's auto-biography) My absolute favorite Book ever (Thank you, Daddy) The Chronicles of Crime - any crime enthusiast should get this one... it's great!!
