I've worked as a Business Analyst for a number of years but have recently taken some time off to do my MFA at the University of British Columbia. I mostly write fiction and have had a few stories published in Australian journals and magazines The Big Issue, Sleepers Almanac, Page Seventeen, and Verandah.
A dose of sunlight early in the morning helps. Coffee helps more than I'd like to admit. Seeing or hearing something strange. Old trees that have seen several generations come and go. Music. Long walks. Places where trains go to die. Books, and by association, bookstores. Those sorts of things.
