About Me

I started writing in March 2009 at the age of 40. I am a single parent to five awesome children ranging in age from 3 to 19 years of age. I don't have a specific genre that I write but I do tend to stick to short stories although I have two novels on the go.

Why do you write?

People fuel my creativity. I am totally fascinated by the things we do and why we do them. My reasons for writing have changed somewhat from when I first started writing. Initially I wrote because I needed to be heard. I had stories to tell and I wanted to know I had a voice. Now I find that my reasons for writing have extended beyond personal expression. When I write I want to entertain, move, affect, haunt and change my reader. I want to tell them stories that they will talk about with their friends. I want to write stories and books that have well-worn pages because the reader wants to experience the story again and again. I want to give the reader the very best of me.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Jean M Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear. It was the first book to make me sob my heart out.
