I am a 42 year old single screenwriter living in Los Angeles with one sale under my belt and more to come! I've also written a number of short stories over the years and am at work on a Young Adult novel, as well as completing a novella.
Mostly I am influenced by film, a passion of mine ever since I was a kid. Watching a movie, just one shot or scene can feed my imagination and take me to a completely different place. I love taking everyday people and putting them in slightly paranormal or preternatural situations to see what happens. Those are my favorite. To me it's all about character, but when you mix that with settings or situations we've never seen before, well, that gets me worked up. In a good way.
My friend Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors. Her novel THE PACT is one of my favorite books.
