Digital photography hobbyist. Frequent reader and occasional writer of short forms. Haiku and limerick are guilty pleasures. All fiction is fantasy. I prefer the pulpy variety in both fiction and orange juice.
I write for my own pleasure, which is derived from sharing unique and useful information. Much of what I blog fits the bill. Humor, wonder, and awe are often the driving forces of my poetry. I'm also ridiculously fond of alliteration and word play.
William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition" is my most frequent recommendation to others due to it's accessibility to a wide range of readers from many genres. And his collection of shorts, "Burning Chrome", is often at hand, primarily for "The Gernsback Continuum". Michael Chabon's "Kavalier and Clay" may be my personal favorite for it's tapestry of comic book lore. Collections of short science fiction, erotica, and strange tales (not necessarily the horror variety) are typical finds on my shelves.
