Why do you write?

Fiction is a way of working out ideas, for me. The fiction I appreciate most reflections this sort of deep observation or consideration.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Among my favorite books are Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo, Tolkien's The Lord of The Rings, Eiji Yoshikawa's Taiko, Proust's Swann's Way and Neal Stephenson's Anathem.
