About Me

I've been writing for about six years now, publishing short stories and flash fiction in magazines such as Bound Off!, Apeiron Review, Thickjam, Flashquake, 50 to 1, 322 Review, 34th Parallel, and others. I've mostly worked for various non profits, in New England and California, focusing on helping people with developmental disabilities and homelessness. Currently I split my time between the local library and an eresource company where I write tweets about things like hemoglobin or Rodin.

Any favorite authors? Books?

Dave Eggers is the contemporary author I enjoy reading the most (although, I'm underwhelmed by his latest effort, A Hologram for the King). Salman Rushdie, Mario Vargas Llhosa, John Steinbeck, Toni Morrison, Karen Russel, Cynthia Weiner, Barbara Kingsolver, and Richard Russo are my constantly revolving list of favorite authors. Dennis Lehane would be my guilty pleasure pick. I don't necessarily have a favorite book, but The People of Paper by Salvador Plascencia would be up there if I had to pick.

Thank you for the lovely comment on 'Slime', Duncan! And thanks for favoriting it, too! The words really did a good job of developing their own rhythm, I had nothing to do with that.
