Thanks for sending me to Dave's story. And yes, it resembles my story in that it deals with the contemporary phenomenon of men who have sex with other men but don't identify as gay. But the violence! I think that the story betrays an attitude toward sex between men as a struggle for dominance--men seen as inherently threatening, and sex with men as demeaning, dangerous. Interesting.
