If I have some innate talent, I feel obligated to explore it and refine it. I am not "in love" with writing, but I am in love with the occasional charge, the jolt that creativity gives you when you are onto something good. It's like a drug. Sometimes, when you are in "the zone" (not auto zone) you go someplace else. Everything becomes translucent. You feel light. You look up to learn that 3 hours have passed and you have just written 2700 words, most of the material "good." My father, God rest his soul, told me to write. He pooped all over my small business ideas, but he always said "Write, son, write; it's what you're good at."
