I was born in Iowa, studied Art and Literature as an undergraduate, and have now completed my PhD in American Literature from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I have published numberous stories, and one novel, Three Girls: A Twenty-First Century Tale. It was self-published, with a partial grant from North South University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I taught for five years.
Lately, my greatest endeavor has been raising my daughter, who is now eleven years old. She loves soccer, karate and cats, and hopes to be an engineer someday.
I write because I like to consider the effects of putting different people, from different places, together in one story. I gain inspiration from sign posts, casual conversation and TV ads.
