I write both fiction and non-fiction. Short stories, personal essays, various writings on books, music, and film. Short fiction is where my writer's heart mostly lives, but I've been doing more and more non-fiction, and enjoying it. I write regularly for Shindig! music magazine from the UK, and am at work on a biography of the late British crime writer/cult figure, Ted Lewis.
I don't think about why I write. It's just a drive that's there, a calling that I am more than happy to answer.
