Like any author, I have an unbelievable ego that presumes others will have any interest whatsoever in sacrificing their time and focus to read the made-up stories I write. Being a lifelong obsessive reader, I feel that fiction can be a powerful, useful tool in the living of everyday life, through catharsis and frisson. Works of fiction have had a meaningful role in my life, so I strive to provide a similar experience for others. I mostly flounder in this pursuit, but succeed occasionally enough that it keeps me going.
