    I'm a native of upstate New York, where the eleven stories in my debut collection, All The Roads That Lead From Home (August 2011, Press 53), are set. However, I've lived in Seattle for thirty years, which doesn't make me a native, but certainly long enough to feel like it's home.

    Why do you write?

    I write because I'm less crazy than when I'm not writing.

    Louise Erdrich, Alice Munro, and William Trevor are my favorite authors.
