My Dog

by Samuel Derrick Rosen

My dog is a goddess
A mongrel most rich
A canine empress
No pooch to bewitch

She kisses my head
Softens my tongue
Drains me of Frued
Fills me with Jung

Inflames every space
Between every breath.
Equally dismisses
My life and my death.

Drags me gently
From out of my ditch
She vomits her virtue
She's nobody's snitch

I put in my mouth
the food that she brings
Bitter, sweet,
mysterious things

In need of no leash
She tends to my itch
My dog is a goddess
The definitive bitch.
