Chinese Whispers (or Telephone)
by Samuel Derrick Rosen
Warhol actually said,
"everyone will be WORLD
for a limited amount of minutes",
Americans don't believe
in the rest of the world,
that line got disengaged,
And now I'm fantasizing
a love-affair with Alexander Graham Bell,
spitting sub-erotic undertones
through one end
of a 20th century telephone,
on a Saturday afternoon, imagining
of your average,
Before the sun goes down. I know I'm going to die!
Do you? As you fondle
your puzzle-box, I grow jealous.
Your body resistant to my brain's illusion,
after a good day's work, darling, sweetheart, O.
I am ready for death,
just not as much as I think,
to you in excess,
with your armies and their weapons.
Such a foggy day! From the Empire State Building
I can't see the Statue of Liberty!
But I know nothing,
at least, is something.................
