by Mark Waldrop
At work I listen to music
recorded from live performances.
People cheer in the music and
I can hear their smiles
they are excited.
I smile with them
and I imagine they are happy
for me.
I see them beyond my grey office walls
I imagine they are my friends
and family. They are my boss—
so excited about the reports
I've finished.

A nice testament to the strong capabilities of music to remove one from reality. Nice.
