I stand in your shower
borrow your scents-
Peach Caress Soap
Jovan White Musk.
I pad down the hall
to the mirror hung
on your bedroom door.
Leave behind a trail
of damp footprints
in the sand colored carpet.
My face transforms from ivory glow
of virgin skin to rosy complexion
creased with generations
of laugh lines and crows-feet.
Your brown eyes stir
like hazelnut syrup into spring's
new birth green of mine.
Through my reflection
I see you and me
souls entwined.

Lovely and regenerative.
Filled with reflections of all sorts. Love this Emily : "like hazelnut syrup into spring's new birth green of mine."
Wonderful sensory details in this poem, Emily! And the essence of romance, and seasonal splendor evoke strong imagery.
Fave.
