Long slow night
moody lumbering freight train
the journey of a millennium begins
with a rumble in the dark
the Milky Way shimmers above
a thousand words tremble
on a thousand tongues
stars cartwheel in zero gravity
oblivious to wishes
frivolous things
miracles are in the mind
and stars are only gas

Thanks for your lovely comments, Darryl and Bill!
Well, there you have it! Stars are only gas!*
Lol, Tim! I was in a mood when I wrote this. I actually find the night sky infinitely fascinating. Thanks for reading!
Beautiful, evocative. *
It is fascinating, Charlotte, and you would be knocked out by the stars at night here in Sedona!
Thank you, Dianne!
Tim, I have no doubt about that. I've seen the gorgeous sky st night in the NM desert. I was born there and still have relatives there although it's been years since I've visited. The night sky at my dad's in rural MS is beautiful, too. Here in the city is hard to see much, def a downside to city living.
When you hear it wound up in the Blue Fifth Review, there is nothing left for you to do but read it...
