Where'd the Fictionaut blog link go? From the front page. It's not there.
I'm not sure -- looking into it. In the meantime, there have been two new posts:
Luna Digest by Marcelle Heath
http://blog.fictionaut.com/2011/01/04/luna-digest-14/
Fictionaut Five with Murray Dunlap
http://blog.fictionaut.com/2011/01/05/fictionaut-five-murray-dunlap/
Thanks, Jurgen. While they're at it, I've noticed that the blog page sometimes locks up my Internet Explorer, totally freezes the program, forcing me to close it. Not always, but every now and then. No other site seems to affect it that way, only the Fn Blog page.
Ok, the blog is back. Not sure about your freezing problem, James -- which version of IE are you using?
I'm using IE 8.
Jurgen--
(if you check back...)
What is the purpose of the Group Activity section on a group's front page?
It is twice as long as the space allowed for posting stories (total of five), it is twice as long as the space allowed for discussion threads, and...
all it does it say that so-and-so posted a story (when that's obvious), AND, not only does it say that so-and-so posted a reply to a discussion thread (when, again, that's obvious), it excerpts the first three lines of said reply (taking up even more space).
None of this listing of activities is necessary/useful, and keeps stories on front page of a group down to five, and pushes discussion topics to the second page.
(sorry for hijacking yer thread, James, but opporknocity tuned...)
Pirate.
(ineffectual pirate, no doubt)
