    Happy to be back after a long hiatus. Is the current view of Fictionaut that of a site to showcase work or to workshop new pieces? Also, does a story that is posted here count as being "published" in the sense that it should not be submitted to a literary magazine or journal?

    I think people use the site in different ways, sometimes for things that have been previously published, sometimes to try something out on a friendly readership, maybe for some it's a final destination, just a form of publishing. Any number of pieces that first appeared on Fictionaut have been published elsewhere, even in old school paper literary journals, but there are some journals who frown on the practise. Though the frowning is pretty easy to circumvent.
