I heard this quote while listening to the latest interview on speakingoffaith.org. Turns out Goethe was quite the scientist as well as writer. Considered his scientific work to be of more importance than his writing, though as the above quote is used in his refutation of the the Newtonian concept of light, particularly white light as being "comprised" of all colors, it is easy to see the presence of the poet in even his investigative thought processes.
Beautiful. That is the language that goes to the heart of the matter. It's true and yet it begs you to experience for yourself the miracle of life. The quoted sentence is a gift unto itself waiting to be used to open the mind even further to the great mystery we find ourselves to be inside. Nice find,Matt.
