Here are two places I'e worked with that hae closing dates around the end of this month. Both are Scotland based but open to English language writing from around the world. I'e worked with them both and enjoyed it.

Unbound Press has the amazing Amy Burns as editor. £5 entry fee to the competition [or equialent - payable ia paypal] Closes 1st August. Email entries only. You'll hear by the end of August at the latest and winning pieces will be anthologised in a book. Any genre/theme welcome.

Duality is free to enter and closes 31st July for submissions to Duality 5. Accepted work will be included in an anthology. Theme of 'style' as in write in the style of someone you enjoy etc. You need to email Alec Beattie ia the website for full details and also to submit.
