I am a British / American writer. I've lived in a lot of different countries and done a lot of different things. I've always written. I currently live in Berlin. The most important person in my life is my 17 year old son, he is my pride and my joy.
I write literary fiction. I have completed two novels ('The Other Gwenna' and 'Deep, Dark and Delicious') and I'm currently working on a third called 'My Father's Strangely Burning Life'. I have also written a novella called 'Stealing the Midnight Sugar'. I have also completed several short stories, including a collection of thematically linked stories called 'Stealing the Midnight Sugar'.
I have been published in a few literary journals and websites.
I am currently seeking representation.
My creativity seems to be fueled by my dreams and my sub-conscious. I think in a way writing is a way for me to process the pain and strangeness of life. Paul Bowles said that writing was therapy for him and I can relate to that. I find the stories and ideas just appear in my mind as though they were given to me by someone else. In a way, they don't seem to have much to do with me personally. It's almost as though someone else is writing them.
I love Wuthering Heights with a passion. I am a big fan of Hemingway, Camus, Virginia Woolfe, Anais Nin, Houllebecq, Kafka, Thomas Hardy, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Naguib Mahfouz, Pushkin, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky... there are so many great writers. I am open to new authors but tend to love the classics.
