"Now, I'm not no Holocaust Denier . . . I just think it was a little bump in the road! Like Reagan said about Watergate . . . 'Mistakes were made,' and all. Well, shoot . . . Problem is, nowadays, fascism's got a bad name. Suborning your will to the might of the State's got a bad name . . . well, that's why I'm an enemy of Big Government.
"It all adds up.
"You know."
(beat.)
"Now, let us pray . . . "
THE END
"Our Father, who aren't in Heaven . . . "—ahh, screw it. What's on ESPN?
Scratch the surface of every Holocaust denier and you'll find that underneath is someone who isn't really denying that it happened, it's just that they simply don't care, and they don't want to be made to care, because the Jews deserved it. It takes some coaxing to get this out of Holocaust deniers, but if you approach the topic sideways you'll find that this is what they really believe: that the Holocaust was a good thing, as were the Stalin purges, the Khmer Rouge, what happened in Rwanda, and so on and so forth. Soulless creeps who are so invested in the idea of divine justice that they can't possibly admit to themselves that there but for the Grace of God goes I.
A-men! :)
